Strengthening FIFO and DIDO logistics for remote, asset-intensive operations
As part of these acquisitions, we’re enhancing the tools our customers rely on to coordinate the movement of large and complex workforces across FIFO (fly-in fly-out) and DIDO (drive-in drive-out) operations. Fly2Work, for example, is already used by some of the world’s biggest operators, including BHP Minerals Americas, which manages travel, accommodation and logistics for more than 52,000 personnel through the platform.
With half of the world’s twenty largest mining and resources companies requiring highly effective workforce logistics solutions, this expansion comes at a critical time. JMS and Fly2Work significantly reduce manual effort and operational errors, giving organisations reliable, high-volume systems that keep their people moving safely and efficiently.
“Our customers need robust platforms that operate as a single source of truth and can be accessed anywhere in the world,” Charlton added. “They also need software that can adapt quickly as events and circumstances change—particularly when managing the movement of large numbers of people. We are the leaders in FIFO travel logistics, and now we lead in DIDO movement and management as well, while extending our reach in growth markets such as North and South America, and cementing Quartex as the world’s best provider helping businesses Run Every Site Right™.”
Ionyx Managing Director James Kelly said he is excited about the future of the combined offerings. “We are excited to be combining our solutions into Quartex’s full end-to-end solution for DIDO/FIFO workforces while simultaneously improving the level of support and functional capabilities available to our global customers,” Kelly said. “Quartex has built a strong brand by helping companies move their people, just as we have. It makes complete sense to bring our capabilities together to help our joint customers’ workers navigate extreme distances.”
About JMS
Journey Management System (JMS) improves safety for DIDO workers and solo operators in remote and harsh environments. The platform provides automated notifications when workers pass through geofenced checkpoints and integrates with fatigue-tracking cameras, geolocation units and satellite-connected devices to support rapid response and risk reduction.
About Fly2Work
Fly2Work streamlines workforce logistics for remote operations by connecting travel planning, site access and compliance, rostering and accommodation within a single coordinated platform. It gives organisations a fast and reliable way to manage the movement and housing of large, distributed teams.
